2011 Administrator’s Breakfast & Workshop

Wednesday, October 26, 8:30–10:30 am

Hobee’s Restaurant Meeting Room, downtown Los Gatos
(located at the intersection of Highway 9 and University Avenue)

Back by Popular Demand, the California Association for the Gifted Santa Lucia Region will offer a Breakfast Workshop on meeting the needs of gifted & talented students for principals, assistant principals, superintendents, and district office administrators.

CAG knows that most administrators have a wide range of responsibilities, and we offer this workshop to provide those who attend with a crystallized understanding of how school sites can best serve gifted and talented students in grades K–12. Participants will also leave with many ideas for how to run a high quality GATE pro-gram on a limited budget.

   A Guide-book for Administrators"

Attendees will receive a free copy of The Leadership Challenge: A Guide-book for Administrators, CAG’s newest handbook, written specifically for administrators. Administrators in today’s busy schools must serve with a multitude of responsibilities. This guide book is designed to outline the basic requirements of the California Recommended Standards for Gifted and Talented Education Programs (adopted by the State Board of Education, 2001), and assist in meeting those requirements with particular attention to the administrative role that you play within your district. The workshop will be led by Steve Kahl, former Board member of the California Association for the Gifted. Steve coordinates the GATE program at Mountain View High School and has trained teachers in districts throughout the state and country in differentiated instruction methodology.
